Once again, reading Faefever felt like reading a short story. The plot progresses and takes a new turn in this book.

I liked MacKayla better in this one. She's not as annoying as in Bloodfever, she takes things in her own hands instead of just whining about it.

This book also confirmed my choice for Barrons over V'lane. I didn't realize how moody he was. The temperature changes every second, for crying out loud ! But of course, Fae are the most patient, the most worthy, the most perfect .... And seriously, we get it.V'lane is an angel, copper and I don't remember the other one, I've read the same description over and over, I get the picture. Okay, he can give you orgasms just by looking at you, but I don't need to read about orgasms every time he's in a passage.

I don't get the author's choices. There were times I felt like I was reading porn. Not even erotica. Porn. She doesn't detail the action scenes but describes with too much precision the sex ones. Like everything, moderation is the key.

Then there is Dani, the new character introduced in Bloodfever. She's a teenager, she's cute, she's sassy... But the author forces us to like her. I had some issues with that in the last book. Mac develops too quickly an attachment for her, it's like she knew things we didn't. In Faefever, the author shows us why Dani is so loveable. Yes, she's cool, but I don't like being pushed.

Let's move on to the positve stuff !

First of all, there are hilarious scenes. The world is probably doomed, but we laugh anyway because of ridiculous situations. I think it's part of why I'm continuing on with this serie.

The other part, being Jericho Barrons of course. I don't know why but he's the one I trust the most within the serie. I don't know what he is or what his purposes really are but judging by his actions, he's trustworthy... I think. He shows a more human side and even apologize - Barrons style but still. I can't believe he and Fiona... Ugh. Better not think about it. He's not only the rude and mysterious guy from the begining. He's more complex. We can finally see a crack in his shell and what is under seems fascinating. He purposely takes his distance and I'm eager to find out why.

There's also more action going on, more mysteries to unravel. In other words, not the best urban fantasy out there but still entertaining.
